Indietro nei giorni in cui eseguivo Path Finder per un po ', ma poi lo rimuovevo dal sistema e tornavo al cercatore regolare. Ora quando inserisci il open Desktop/ nel terminale, apre Finder che mostra la directory Desktop.

Oggi ho montato un'unità che contiene i backup, inclusa una copia di una vecchia Path Finder.app che ovviamente era stata rilevata dal sistema immediatamente, perché quando era in esecuzione open Desktop/ , allora ha cercato di usare questa copia di Path Finder per aprirla la cartella. Quando l'unità è stata smontata, è tornato a utilizzare Finder.

Presumo, questo è un fallback, e nel profondo del sistema c'è ancora un'impostazione per aprire le cartelle in Path Finder. Quando apri la finestra di cmd + i su una cartella in Finder, non esiste qualcosa come "apri con ..." come se fosse per un file.

Quindi mi chiedo, dove posso eliminare completamente Path Finder?

Per risolvere il problema espresso nell'OP, seguirei le indicazioni mostrate dallo sviluppatore di Path Finder utilizzando le informazioni in Come faccio a disinstallare completamente Path Finder? , che è citato di seguito, per comodità.

Si noti inoltre che, se per qualche ragione si desidera conservare la copia di backup di Path Finder, prima archiviarla in un file zip, quindi eliminarla come indicato di seguito.

Citato dal link sopra:

Before removing the Path Finder application, make sure to reset all preferences that tell the system to use Path Finder by default. After that, make sure to relaunch all running applications, logout or reboot so applications can re-read the default settings.

From Path Finder's preferences window, make the follow changes:

Path Finder 6 & 7 preferences:

  • In the Finder tab, disable these options:

    • Hide Finder's desktop
    • Quit Finder when Path Finder launches
    • Enable Finder's "Remove from Dock" menu option

  • In the General tab, disable these options:

    • Launch Path Finder at login
    • Set as the default file browser

Path Finder 5 preferences:

  • In the General tab, disable these options:

    • Launch Path Finder automatically after log in
    • Quit the Finder automatically at launch
    • Hide Finder's desktop

  • In the Reveal tab, disable "Set Path Finder as the default file viewer"

To remove all traces of Path Finder, delete the following files and folders (some of these may not be on your system).

FreeMacSoft's free application AppCleaner is an excellent tool for automating this process. Just make sure to disable the settings listed above before using AppCleaner.

La ricerca corretta dovrebbe essere: 

grep -r "com.cocoatech.PathFinder" ~/Library/Preferences

LauchServices utilizza l'identificatore del gruppo per cercare un'app.

Probabilmente lo troverai qui, in El Capitan: 

defaults read ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.LaunchServices/com.apple.launchservices.secure.plist

Se utilizzi Quicksilver (e dovresti) puoi selezionare qualsiasi cartella e quindi "Apri sempre il tipo con ..." Questo sembra impostare l'app predefinita per aprire le cartelle a livello di sistema. Ad esempio, l'app si apre con Dock / Download / X in Finder
