Almeno sul mio sistema (OS X 10.9.2), vedo che apache userà / private / etc / apache2. Nota SERVER_CONFIG_FILE

Normalmente / etc è un link simbolico a / private / etc, ma se non è presente nel tuo sistema, ciò potrebbe spiegare la discrepanza.
