L'accesso a iCloud fallisce con la password corretta

Le preferenze di sistema di iCloud su un MacBook continuano a visualizzare "inserisci la tua password per continuare ad usare iCloud" anche quando la password è stata inserita correttamente e verificato lavorando con un iPhone e icloud.com.

Sembra che il problema sia che macOS non è in grado di memorizzare la password o di accedervi sul MacBook. Ho provato a eliminare tutte le voci di iCloud nel portachiavi, ma non è stato di aiuto.
