Come testare la memoria dopo l'aggiornamento della memoria?

Recentemente ho aggiornato il mio macbook da 4G a 8G e mi chiedo se c'è uno strumento per testare la qualità della nuova memoria. Ho trovato memtest 4,22 sembra solo test su 1G:

UPDATE:

Riavvio in modalità utente singolo come descritto nella domanda e prova di nuovo. Funziona meglio, circa 7G di memoria testati. Quindi immagino che 1G mancante sia riservato alla scheda grafica?

Ti suggerisco di installare memtester ad esempio con MacPorts :

$ port install memtester

e usalo:

$ memtester 2G

Per testare l'intera memoria, è necessario eseguire l'avvio da un dispositivo esterno (chiavetta USB, DVD) con un sistema che utilizza la minor quantità di memoria. Puoi provare l'Apple Hardware Test premendo il tasto 'd' sulla tastiera durante l'avvio (se non funziona, prova con Alt-d per avviare l'AHT su Internet). Oppure puoi anche provare MemTest86 e creare una memory stick avviabile. Ho letto alcune persone che dicono che MemTest86 era migliore di AHT. Tuttavia mi è appena capitato che AHT fosse in grado di trovare un errore di memoria nel mio MBP e MemTest86 non ha rilevato alcun problema dopo 4 passaggi di test.
