Sto cercando di trovare informazioni su un popolare programma anti-virus freeware per Macintosh degli anni '90. Non riesco a ricordare il suo nome. Come ricordo, è stato installato come un'estensione e l'icona era una "V" nera su uno sfondo bianco. Credo che lo sviluppo si sia fermato a metà degli anni '90 in risposta alla minaccia dei virus macro di Word.

Disinfectant era un popolare programma antivirus gratuito sul Mac degli anni '80 fino al suo ritiro ufficiale a versione 3.7.1 nel 1998 :
Announcement and Press Release May 6, 1998 Updated: October 11, 1998 I regret to announce that I am officially retiring Disinfectant, our free anti-viral utility for the Macintosh. The current version 3.7.1 is the last version. Disinfectant will not be updated for the new Autostart 9805 worm or for any future viruses, worms, or other Macintosh malware.
È l'ultimo antivirus che ho usato sui miei Mac. Non c'è stato molto bisogno.
