In un sistema Lion Server (10.7.3 e 10.7.4 provato) con più unità collegate a un controller SATA HPT, esiste un processo che continua ad accedere alle unità disco fisso esattamente ogni 20 secondi. Di conseguenza, le unità non dormiranno mai (e si spegneranno).

Il modello di accesso all'unità non è in parallelo, ma sequenziale entro un intervallo di tempo di 1 - 2 secondi.

Risoluzione

  1. Anche se i dischi sono non montati e espulsi da diskutil, l'accesso al disco continua a una frequenza di 3 volte al minuto.

  2. iosnoop non dà la minima idea su quale processo potrebbe causare questo frequente accesso al disco. Ci sono molte linee come:

Strano è che iostat non traccia alcuna attività del disco, anche se i LED di attività dell'unità si accendono e sentono una piccola quantità di attività dell'unità. Nell'output seguente è disk6 smontato espulso e disk7 montato.

Penso che tu sia sulla strada giusta con iosnoop - ma forse fs_usage raggiungerà il nocciolo del quale si accede a file specifici.

Inizia con sudo fs_usage -w e puoi grep per le cose o forse trovare una PID stabile da filtrare. Se i processi stanno arrivando e stanno andando troppo rapidamente per essere tracciati, potrebbe essere necessario accendere strumenti o scaricare il database launchd per sapere cosa sta interrogando tutti i dischi o solo quel disco specifico.

Mi dispiace non posso indovinare la causa - ma questo strumento mi aiuta a scoprire tutti i tipi di misteri di IO su Lion.

Il rintracciamento dei comandi eseguiti può essere eseguito con sudo execsnoop -v .

Dove PID 161 è identificato come: 

$ sudo ps 161

Dopo il processo di uccisione 161 è più lunga l'uscita per execsnoop e i LED di attività dell'unità lampeggiano ancora a intervalli di 20 secondi e fs_usage non ha più uscita a intervalli di 20 secondi (solo a 30 secondi).

Non è solo leone, è su ogni sistema operativo che ho installato e su più laptop e sistemi che ho acquistato da vari fornitori. Non ho ancora avuto un PC in grado di far dormire il disco per 10 anni. Ogni PC che ho posseduto ha lo stesso problema. Accesso costante al disco a intervalli specifici ma nessun debugger del software può acquisire o mostrare ciò che sta facendo l'accesso. Unkown ...

Qualche glitch del firmware nascosto che è stato copiato un milione di volte o una backdoor collocata su tutte le piattaforme pc vendute al pubblico? Non dispongo delle risorse o dell'attrezzatura per eseguire effettivamente il tracciamento a livello di linea. Se avessi degli amici in un laboratorio, andrei in fondo a questo.

Quando tutti gli strumenti e il software sviluppati ti tengono al buio, è ovviamente di progettazione e non un difetto. Un altro programma oscurato che rende tutto peggio.

Potresti anche guardare gli stack backtrace quando vengono emesse le scritture su disco utilizzando dtrace :

Inoltre, ci sono dischi rigidi che caricano e scaricano ripetutamente la testa dell'unità quando l'unità è inattiva. Questo potrebbe forse accendere anche i LED di attività dell'unità?
