OS X 10.7.4 Core Storage per la crittografia, ZEVO per ZFS
Esempio
Obiettivo: un disco fisico, cinque volumi. Uno dei cinque non crittografati, uno crittografato con una passphrase, tre crittografati con una passphrase diversa.
Punto di partenza:
- / dev / disk2 - un disco fisico
- / dev / disk2s2 - un volume JHFS + da conservare, non protetto
- / dev / disk2s3 - una slice da distruggere, da riutilizzare con crittografia e ZFS.
Suggerimenti
Poiché HFS + ha un unico blocco globale per tutti gli aggiornamenti dei metadati (conservati attraverso l'I / O) è estremamente sensibile alle latenze del disco . Quindi, mentre la combinazione di ZFS con JHFS + su un singolo disco è possibile , per la maggior parte dei casi d'uso la miscela del file system è non consigliata.
Questo esempio fa anche un uso della compressione e dei file system secondari.

Problemi noti
Nel mondo CoreStorage il suggerimento di contenuto Apple_HFS
non sarà vero per il risultato finale ZFS
. Ho chiesto ad Apple di dare un suggerimento più adatto.
Al momento dello sblocco, il sistema potrebbe sembrare in grado di rifiutare la passphrase (forse a causa della mancata corrispondenza dei suggerimenti). Quando appare il rifiuto:
- aspetta
- il volume sbloccato (e qualsiasi file system figlio) dovrebbe essere montato
- esci dal dialogo della password.
Se lo desideri, usa Keychain Access per aggiungere a un portachiavi la passphrase per l'UUID di un volume logico di Core Storage.

Riparazioni
Considerando che il design di Apple di Core Storage funziona principalmente con il suggerimento di contenuto Apple_HFS
e i bug in fsck_cs :
- Non so se forzare i tipi alternativi (
ZFS
, zfs_pool_proxy
, zfs_filesystem_proxy
e così via) potrebbe compromettere la capacità di fsck_cs
di effettuare riparazioni in caso di difficoltà.
Procedere con cautela.
