Ho notato che molti dei pacchetti che ho installato sulla mia macchina Ubuntu hanno questa "d" alla fine. Googling non mi dà alcuna risposta che riesco a trovare.
Ad esempio:
Server FTP - Pacchetto chiamato: pure-ftpd
Server TFTP - Pacchetto chiamato: atftpd
Server SSH - Pacchetto chiamato: sshd
Che succede con questa "d"?
d è per demon o daemon in questo caso.
Questi pacchetti sono i processi in background che gestiscono le varie connessioni (FTP, TFTP, SSH) menzionate.
Come suggerimento, il nome del pacchetto (" _ _ server") indica che probabilmente avrai bisogno di un processo in background per fornire quel servizio.
