Posso avere un virus / adware nel mio router?

Quando navigo su Internet (in qualsiasi browser), ci sono annunci extra. Ho pensato che potesse essere sul mio computer, ho provato il disco live di Ubuntu, e anche lì c'erano questi annunci. Gli stessi annunci sono anche sui miei dispositivi iOS e Android. Ho fatto un hard reset sui miei dispositivi mobili, ma non è stato di alcun aiuto.

Penso che questi annunci provengano dal mio ISP o dal mio router. Posso avere un virus nel mio router? Come posso controllarlo? Ci sono altre possibili varianti?

Potresti controllare le tue impostazioni DNS sul tuo router e potresti resettarlo o cambiarlo in uno aperto (Google, OpenDNS, ..).

Then you also need to prevent the attack from happening again. Measures to do that include:

  • performing a factory reset to clear any settings left by the attackers
  • installing the latest router firmware
  • using a strong password on the configuration interface
  • limit access to the configuration interface to appropriate places (wired, local connections, not the internet)
  • log out of the configuration interface after use (and do not tick 'save password' on your browser when configuring the router)
  • changing the IP addresses used and supplied by the router (for example change from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.123.1)

Sì, il tuo router potrebbe essere stato infettato da un malware.

Il modo migliore per scoprirlo è disconnettere il computer dalla rete domestica e connettersi al dispositivo mobile utilizzando 3 / 4G (HotSpot)

Se riesci a navigare su Internet senza pubblicità, suppongo che il tuo router sia compromesso.
