Uso chrome (dev channel) su mac osx lion e ogni tanto tenta di accedere a chrome.googleechotest.com sulla porta 80 (EDIT: e altre porte!).
Qualcuno sa quale è l'accordo con chrome.googleechotest.com?
Sembra il suo echo test di Google per Chrome. Il whois (sotto) punta a Google, Inc. Sembra che sia usato per inviare statistiche di connettività di rete a un server di google per ~ 0,5% di utenti. .
Un eco in questo contesto significa semplicemente se si invia un semplice messaggio a un computer remoto se si sente indietro. (Simile al messaggio ping / ICMP).
EDIT: consulta l'eccellente commento di Graham Hill di seguito per disattivare questa funzione in Chrome (in Impostazioni, Roba da smanettoni, deseleziona "Invia automaticamente statistiche sull'utilizzo e segnalazioni sugli arresti anomali a Google" o testo simile.)
