Molto confuso, in alcuni siti web, hanno questa linea: 

iPhone 5s

CPU: Apple A7

altri siti web che dicono:

System-on-chip: Apple 7
CPU: 1.3 GHz 64bit dual core

altre fonti che dicono che

Quindi System on chip è anche CPU? molto confuso

Quindi un'altra fonte confronta System on chip e CPU, hanno detto "La CPU non funzionerà senza altri componenti" & "Il sistema su chip è la combinazione di CPU e altri componenti in un singolo chip."

A7 come A4, A5 e A6 sono sistemi su un chip.

Sul chip c'è la CPU (un ARMv8), la GPU (un Power VR), i controller IO e la RAM.

Un SOC contiene più elementi rispetto alla CPU (capacità grafiche, audio, controller IO, ecc.), ma la CPU è di gran lunga il componente più grande e complesso al suo interno. Un SOC può essere chiamato CPU, perché è lì dove si trova (il resto del contenuto di un SOC è più variabile, ma ha è una CPU), ma ovviamente non tutta la CPU può essere classificato come SOC.
